For a while now, it has been rumored that Facebook is looking to introduce a new feature, something akin to Snapchat. They have now announced Poke, an iPhone app that reinvents Facebook’s hated ‘poke’ feature. The structure of the app works in the same manner as Snapchat does, whereby a user will select a person from their friends list, send them a message, photo or video, and set a limited time in which it is to be viewed, either 1,3,5 or 10 seconds.

Poke is currently in the App Store for free, and is only for iPhone at this point. There has been no word on an iPad version, or anything in regards to Android.
