After being booted from Apple’s iOS devices in iOS 6, AllThingsD reports that Google Maps is expected to make a comeback as early as tonight with their new iOS app to debut on the App Store.
Google plans to release its much-awaited iOS Maps app tonight, according to sources familiar with the matter.
This comes after many sources including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal reported that Google was working on a maps app for the App Store.
In these reports, it was believed that Google was hesitant to make the app because they believed that Apple would not approve it for the App Store, but this may no longer be the case if the report from AllThingsD is correct.
Expect Google Maps to appear on the App Store later today/tonight.
