Ever since the release of Apple’s Retina display 15-inch MacBook Pro in June, rumors have been flying around in regards to a 13-inch model. Now according to a new report by CNET, this smaller version of Apple’s flagship laptop will be coming in the fourth-quarter of 2012.
Analyst Richard Shim has already told CNET about this 13.3-inch Retina MacBook pro in August, and seems persistent on the matter.
Shim has said that the new model would be released sometime after the iPad mini announcement, which is rumored to take place on October 17th.
Shim also confirmed that the model would have a 2560-by-1600 display resolution, slightly smaller than the 15.4-inch model’s 2880-by-1800 pixel display.
The price point for this model is expected to be significantly lower than its larger counterpart, which retails for upwards of $2000 in most countries. This smaller model is expected to be a much higher seller than the 15-inch model, which is traditionally the way things happen in the MacBook Pro space.
