Analyst: Apple to launch 13″ MacBook Pro in October

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, apple is set to update the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a retina display, with a launch date of early October. As he told AppleInsider, Kuo claims that production of the new Pro will be ramped up in September, in order to hit store shelves in time for the holiday shopping season.

This 13-inch Pro is expected to solely use solid-state flash memory storage, and will have a screen resolution of 2,560 by 1,600 pixels. He also said that this new model would be thinner than the current 15-inch, at 18 millimetres.

Whether or not this rumour has any proof behind it is yet to be seen, but Kuo was the first person to indicate that Apple would be dropping the 17-inch MacBook Pro from its lineup, and that the new retina MacBook Pro would be sold alongside the older models, both which were correct. The announcement for this model could possibly come at the same time as the keynote for the next iPhone, which is expected in September.

This prediction is certainly very interesting, and we will be following the story closely and informing you on any advancements.
